Marshall W. W. Ryon graduated from UVA with an Architectural degree before serving 3 years as a Marine Officer. While in school his studies included art, design, color, perspective, shade,  shadow and structure. All are key components of his art.

During his nearly 50 years of professional work on four continents he composed many building renderings and sketches. He has received awards for his building designs and paintings.

Upon retiring he concentrated on painting and believes he must paint daily to improve. Why does he paint? For the pure joy of painting and for what a successful painting may express to others.
